Flowsnake Tiling Details

The figure below shows the first iteration of the boundary of the flowsnake (in red) superimposed on the black initial hexagon. The zigzag motif along each side of the hexagon is repeated on the opposite side of the hexagon, with one side pointing inside the hexagon where the opposite corresponding side points outside the hexagon.

This means that if hexagons are placed next to each other to tile the plane, the first iterations of the boundary applied to each hexagon will also fit together to tile the plane. Try this with four hexagons using the buttons below.

As the construction continues, the boundaries will continue to fit together so that in the limit the flowsnakes will tile the plane, as demonstrated by the following video.
